Sunny Afternoon Aboard

I took the afternoon off work today. A full complement of staff in the office meant I could answer gthe lure of the blue sky outside.

I took my £15 pressure washer (a hand pumped sprayer from the Range) plus a bag full of cleaning products.

I spent a nice hour or two in the sun cleaning the winter's encrustations off Sprite. I'll  get back on board tomorrow and finish up. I'll  also re-attach the mainsail.

Maybe go for a sail....

  1. Serenity is still covered up. We thought winter was going to be over early this year, but the temperatures dropped again, and the snow came back. May be able to start the spring work in a couple more weeks. Looking forward to the summer.

  2. Luckily the UK has a temperate climate and the South Coast has an even milder climate than the rest of the country. Here the South Downs and Portsdown hill give us a micro-climate separate from the rest of the country. The sea keeps it a couple of degrees warmer.

Although it didn't feel like it on Sunday. A good breeze just above freezing gives you quite a chill. Saying that I was almost in my t-shirt where it was more sheltered. Lol.

    1. Our boating season can be stretched to 6 or 7 months, but there are usually only 3 good ones. Last summer we didn't even get that. July was one of the coldest on record. We do, however, have a fantastic cruising area in Notre Dame Bay that makes up for it.
